What Does “FIFA” Stand for in English?

The acronym “FIFA” is expanded into English as, “International Federation of Association Football.” FIFA is the governing property of football internationally for both men and women who play the sport.

FIFA is established under the laws of Switzerland, and its headquarters are located in Zurich, Germany. FIFA does not make the rules of the game, but it is responsible for organizing tournaments and promoting the sport worldwide. There are currently 209 associations with FIFA. Also, FIFA recognizes 29 women’s national teams. A fun fact about FIFA is that it has more member states than the United Nations.
