Some examples of female royal titles are queen, princess, duchess and baroness. Royal titles for women vary by country and the woman's ranking in the royal structure.
Royal titles differ based on the geographic region and time period. For example, one country might use the term princess, and another might use the term duchess, but the titles are usually equal in terms of rank.
The most well known title for female royalty is queen. It is derived from the Germanic word kwenon, meaning "wife." The Indian word for queen is rani and the Arabic word is sultana.
Other female royalty titles include shabanu, Persian for empress, and bai, the Filipino version of princess.
