Famous people who have been members of the Bloods or Crips gangs include rappers Snoop Dogg and Lil Wayne and actor and rapper Ice-T. The Bloods and the Crips are rival gangs based in Los Angeles, Calif., and are frequently tied to illegal activities involving drugs, guns and violent crime.
Rapper Snoop Dogg joined the Crips as a teen, affiliated with the group "Rollin' 20s Crips." Lil Wayne, on the other hand, joined the Bloods after he became famous, and has frequently written lyrics about that affiliation. Ice-T was a member of the Crips before he joined the United States Army and deployed to Hawaii. Ice-T later found success as a musician and actor, and Snoop Dogg and Lil Wayne became rappers.
