One example of a multistate nation is the Kurds. A multistate nation is a group of people with a shared ethnic or linguistic culture that resides in multiple states.
Kurdish communities are commonly found across Iraq, Turkey, Syria, Iran and Armenia. Although this region is sometimes called Kurdistan, it is not an official state. Another example of a multistate nation is the Koreans, whose national population is split predominantly between the states of North Korea and South Korea. Another example is the Yoruba people, who live in areas of Nigeria, Benin and Togo, a region which is sometimes referred to as Yorubaland.
