As of January 2015, Evander Holyfield lives in Atlanta, Ga. Holyfield was born in Atmore, Ala., but was raised in Atlanta, where he took up boxing and has stayed throughout his entire boxing career and adult life.
With his rise to fame as the most successful heavyweight in the history of boxing, Holyfield bought himself a 54,000-square-foot mansion in the city, which he lost to foreclosure in 2014. Having lived in poverty while in Alabama, Holyfield has donated millions of dollars to churches and charitable foundations. He has set up the Holyfield Foundation to provide support to underprivileged youth for their athletic and academic opportunities.
