Duke Energy is an electric power holding company in Charlotte, North Carolina. One of the company’s main objectives for portal is to encourage open communication between the employees and management. However, the site also provides real-time information that are vital to jobs within the company, particularly those in the finance and regulatory divisions.
Neilsen Norman Group ranked the Duke Employee Portal, designed by then-Web analyst Martha Brown, as one of the best employee intranets of 2011.
