What Is Dri-FIT Material?
Last Updated Mar 25, 2020 1:42:03 AM ET
Dri-FIT is a material created by Nike for fitness apparel, consisting of a microfiber and polyester fabric engineered to wick away sweat from the body. Nike makes socks, shirts, pants, shorts and many other accessories and apparel items out of Dri-FIT. No matter what clothing item it is used for, Dri-FIT moves sweat from the body to the surface of the fabric, where it can evaporate.
Dri-FIT apparel has areas where there are holes in the fabric, allowing for ventilation so air can get to the body and help keep athletes cool. Some Dri-FIT products are also made to protect against ultraviolet rays, helping to prevent sunburn that can occur through the clothing.
