Authentic Dooney and Bourke handbags are only manufactured in four places in the world as of 2014: the United States, China, Italy and Mexico. Most Dooney and Bourke bags are made in the United States.
Most of the supplies to make the bag, including the closures, leather and metallic accessories also come from the United States. Dooney and Bourke bags and accessories were made in Italy until the mid-1990s when they moved to the United States. Many of the bags sold on television through companies such as QVC and HSN are made in China. Dooney and Bourke bags are products of Dooney and Bourke Company, which was launched in 1975 by Peter Dooney and Frederic Bourke.
