The farm life provides a natural environment, surrounded by trees, animals and the natural cycles of life. The environment of city life is based on concrete, buildings and very little observable nature. In a farming lifestyle, one works daily with the land, growing food and tending animals. A city lifestyle provides work in the way of office buildings and retail shopping centers.
Families that live farming lifestyle often stay together, with each member contributing to the running of the farm. City life is busier and it is more common for family members to move away from each other in order to pursue their own personal goals. In cities, special homes are established to care for the elderly members of a family, whereas on a farm, people are more likely to stay together and take care of one another.
As far as personal wants and needs go, a farmer places more importance on the necessity of things versus the wanting of things. It is more common for farmers to prioritize needs and they are less tempted by advertisements and commercialism. The city life allows accessibility to more materialism and city people tend to equate their needs with their wants.
