What Is the Difference Between Avantgarde and Elegance?
The Mercedes-Benz A-Class comes in three levels of trim: Classic, Elegance and Avantgarde. All three levels have the same essential chassis and engine; however, there are some differences between the interior and exterior amenities of the Elegance and Avantgarde.
While both the Elegance and Avantgarde have H7 headlights, the Avantgarde has projector-beam headlights. The Elegance has a silver radiator guard, while the Avantgarde has a black one. Both models have body-colored door handles, but the door handles of the Elegance are also trimmed with chrome. The Avantgarde has a stainless steel finish on its tailpipe and 95/55 R 16 light-alloy wheels compared to the185/65 R 15 light-alloy wheels of the Elegance.
On the interior, the Elegance and Avantgarde continue to show subtle differences. The dashboard and door panels of the Avantgarde are always black, while the Elegance also has the options of gray or beige, and the door panels have a wooden trim strip. The Elegance uses wooden trim strips on the center console, and the Avantgarde uses aluminum. The Avantgarde has a low transmission tunnel, while the Elegance has a high one with an arm rest and a wooden trim strip. The Avantgarde offers power windows in the front seat only. The Elegance has power windows in the front and rear seats. Seat colors match the dashboard. Only black is available for the Avantgarde, but black, gray and beige are available for the Elegance.
