Robin is renowned for saying one of his many exclamations to Batman that begin with “Holy.” Robin would utter these exclamations in an intense situation, and he would usually follow them with “Batman, what do we do now?”
Some of the phrases uttered by Robin to Batman include “Holy Smokes,” “Holy Hamlet,” “Holy Hollywood,” “Holy Jackpot,” “Holy Jet Set,” “Holy Shucks,” “Holy Cosmos,” “Holy Iodine,” “Holy Cold Creeps” and “Holy Houdini.” Robin’s character was played by Burt Ward in the 1960s Batman television series, who would utter the “Holy” phrases with a nasal voice. The catchphrases, which would many times be directly related to the story, gained popularity and widespread use in the American vernacular.
