Bailiff Brendan from the Judge Mathis television show died from a fall from the balcony of his apartment in Chicago. The actor, whose full name was Brendan Anthony Moran, fell 24 floors and died on December 19, 2002. Chicago authorities ruled that Moran's death was an accident.
Prior to his time on the Judge Mathis show, Moran was active in the Chicago music and theater community. He played with the Shannon Rovers Bagpipe Band and was a member of the Actors Union. The actor was memorialized by friends at St. Gertrude Church in Chicago's Glenwood neighborhood and was interred in a private ceremony.
