What Does Dialing Star 82 Do?
Last Updated Apr 9, 2020 10:46:35 PM ET

Dialing *82, followed by a phone number, deactivates Per Line Blocking for that phone call. This allows your name and phone number to be seen on the caller ID of the receiving phone.
This must be done for all calls made to phones that have Anonymous Call Rejection activated for the call to go through. All calls placed to 911 or any toll-free phone do show the phone number of the incoming call regardless of the Per Line Blocking status. The type of caller ID equipment determines whether the name of the caller appears with the phone number or not.
