Fabrics made from cotton polyester blend are less susceptible to shrinking compared to fabrics made from pure cotton. In general, cotton polyester blend consists of 50 percent cotton and 50 percent polyester.
A cotton polyester blend is resistant to shrinking due to the influence of polyethene. Fabrics made from this blend do not require regular ironing before use. Although this blend is not 100 percent breathable like cotton fabric, it is less susceptible to wrinkling. This blend is generally used for jerseys as well as athletic and sports clothing, as it is resistant to wear and tear caused by regular use.
