What Is Contemporary Culture?
Contemporary culture refers to the common themes of art, music, architecture and literature that are popular at the present time. Contemporary culture can also refer to certain political attitudes, religious beliefs and news events that lead trends during the present time.
Currently in the contemporary music culture, most young people prefer to listen to hip-hop artists and electronic dance music. The most successful artists of the time period receive recognition for their contributions to contemporary culture through awards shows such as the Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards. People from older generations may have a difficult time identifying with contemporary culture.
