What Are Some Common Problems With the Lexus ES300?

The Lexus ES300 has a handful of common problems, such as the check engine light illuminating when it should not, ignition coil failure and sludge building up on the engine, says Repair Pal. Most of these problems are relatively minor ones that can be addressed and fixed.

The Lexus ES300’s check engine light can often illuminate due to the oxygen sensor not working properly or failure of the purge control valve in the evaporative emission system. Sludge has a tendency to build up on this model because Lexus recommended oil changes too infrequently. Once a Lexus ES300 has reached about 100,000 miles, it is common for the ignition coil to fail and cause an engine misfire.
