What Are Some of the Common Problems With the Honda CR-V?

Some common problems with the Honda CR-V include vibration when braking, loss of cold air from AC vents, a groaning noise from the rear and a faulty door lock. Other problems include failure of the wipers, flickering of the tailgate and water leaks from the cowl area.

Warping of the front brake rotors causes vibrations when braking in the Honda CR-V. The vibrations may also result from wear and tear and failure to service the front rotors. Pedal misapplication causes unintended acceleration during braking. Seizing of the AC compressor causes a loss of cold air in the AC vents. This spreads debris in the air conditioning system, causing squealing noises in the engine.

Differential fluid breakdown leads to groaning noises from the rear. This causes rear shuddering when making tight right and left turns. Worn-out door lock tumblers cause defects in the door locks. A faulty windshield wiper motor prevents the wipers from turning properly, causing erratic movement of the intermittent wiper and slamming down when they are in parking position.

A maladjusted tailgate or a defective tailgate switch can cause flickering of the tailgate. Vents in the cowl cause leaking water in the Honda CR-V’s cabin. Corrosion between the brake pad retainers and rear brake calipers cause groaning noises from the engine front. Premature tire wear and tear causes flat tires and blowouts.
