What Colors Best Complement Khaki?
As a light shade of yellow or brown, khaki is a solid neutral color that works well with almost any shade, but it is best complemented by other neutral colors, such as browns, tans, spring greens and faint yellows. Many other colors complement khaki nicely, but very bold overpowering red or black colors often look particularly odd with light-colored khaki.
First used by British colonial troops in India, khaki is available in a range of different shades from brighter sandy yellows to much darker brown or tan varieties.
With no direct opposites on the color wheel, khaki or tan garments are ideal for wearing with a range of other colors, but very stark color alterations are best avoided. Very light khakis often work well with yellows or whites while darker brown khakis suit blues and browns.
