As of 2015, some colleges that offer courses in paranormal studies include Volunteer State Community College in Tennessee, Harper College in Illinois, Hunter College in New York, Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana, Kapiolani Community College in Hawaii and Almance Community College in North Carolina. Paranormal classes are typically offered as noncredit continuing education or personal enrichment courses, although some may award credit toward a degree.
Harper College offers paranormal studies in topics such as ghosts, paranormal investigation, cemeteries, aliens and vampires. Hunter College has a traditional college class on witchcraft and religion. The courses at the other schools mentioned are in ghost hunting and paranormal investigation and prepare students to conduct their own investigations.
