How Do You Clean Vileda Mop Heads?
Once you are done using your mop head, the first step is to wring out any excess water and rinse the head thoroughly under hot water. Afterwards, you can either soak the mop head in a bleach and water mixture or wash the head in the washing machine.
The initial rinse of the mop head in hot water is the most important step, as this is the step which prevents mold and bacteria from taking root and starting to grow on the head of the mop. Once you rinse the mop head at least twice in clean water, decide whether you want to do a thorough cleaning with water and a small amount of bleach or utilize the washing machine. Either is acceptable for Vileda mops, as they are machine washable as long as the temperature of the water remains below 60 degrees Celsius. If you are unsure of the temperature settings of a particular wash, use a short, gentle wash setting on the machine to ensure that the temperature will not harm the mop head.
Once your mop head has been thoroughly cleaned, allow it to dry in a well-ventilated area. If the mop head does not completely dry at this stage, all of the cleaning process has been in vain; ensuring that the head is situated upside down and is left to dry in a space that has good ventilation will prevent the growth of any mildew or bacteria that may have survived the cleaning process.
