What Is a Chuck Wagon Sandwich?
Last Updated Apr 9, 2020 6:09:40 PM ET
A chuck wagon sandwich is made in the same way as a pork tenderloin sandwich, but it is made with beef patties or chicken-fried steak patties instead of pork. It is served on a toasted sesame seed bun with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise.
The deli version of the chuck wagon sandwich is made with a sesame seed bun filled with bologna, ham, Swiss cheese, American cheese and paprika.
Low-fat versions of the deli chuck wagon sandwich are made by replacing the sesame seed bun with a whole wheat bun. The Swiss and American cheese is replaced with reduced fat cheddar and mozzarella.
