In a grocery store, a person can find cheesecloth in the cooking or kitchen supplies section where one finds food gadgets, pots and pans. If a person does not find it there, then he can buy this product in a department store, from an online retailer or a kitchen supply store.
Cheesecloth is made from lightweight cotton and is available in coarse or fine weave. It also has many uses in the kitchen. It is useful for making cheese, straining broths and as a lining for molds.
If one does not have cheesecloth, then substitutes are available, such as a tea towel or a fine mesh strainer. This type of strainer is useful for straining sauces or draining yogurt.
