How Do You Check Your DMV Registration Status?
Last Updated Mar 28, 2020 5:36:16 PM ET
A driver can find out the status of his registration by contacting the local Department of Motor Vehicles. Many DMV agencies send notices of an expiring vehicle registration to the vehicle owners about one to two months before the date arrives.
The best way to obtain registration status information is to visit a local facility and speak to someone who has access to the computer database. Some facilities offer online or telephone access to registration information. Florida, for example, has an online registration system. The driver has to verify some identifying information before accessing vehicle registration and renewal tools on the DMV website.
