NBCSN is available on channel 151 on Dish Network as of 2014. It is a digital cable and satellite television channel that covers sports events such as NFL, MLB, NHL and NBA events. It also broadcasts coverage of the Olympics, NASCAR, the English Premier League and college sports.
In 1995, NBCSN was known as the Outdoor Life Network, which became popular because of its coverage of the Tour de France. It later covered more mainstream sports and was rebranded as Versus, owned by Comcast. As a result of Comcast’s acquisition of a major stake in NBC, it was rebranded as the NBCSports Network in 2012. Its named was shortened into NBCSN in 2013 before its coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympics.
