How Do You Change a Comcast WiFi Password?

To change a Comcast WiFi password log into the Admin Tool using a web browser and enter a new Network Password. It is also possible to change the Network Name, or SSID, using the same process.

  1. Get a connected device
  2. The first step is to get a device that is connected to the WiFi already. If that is not possible, connect a computer directly using an Ethernet cable.

  3. Log into Admin Tool
  4. Now log into the Admin tool. This is done by going to a web browser on a computer and typing http://10.0.0.1 into the address field. The username is admin and the password is password. If the password has been changed but cannot be remembered, the wireless gateway will need a factory reset.

  5. Change password
  6. In the Admin Tool, select Gateway in the menu on the left. Then select Connections and then WiFi. The name of the WiFi network will now display. Click edit to go into Private WiFi Network Configuration. One of the options here is the Network Password. Change it as required. To see what is being typed, click Show Network Password. The SSID can also be changed on this screen. Once finished, click on Save Settings.

  7. Update devices
  8. All devices that use the WiFi will now need to be updated with the new network password.
