What Are Some Care Tips for a Neon Pothos?
The most important care tips for a neon pothos are to keep the plant in an area that receives bright, indirect sunlight and to avoid overwatering. Like other golden pothos specimens, the neon pothos does best away from drafts in temperatures between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Allow the soil to dry out slightly before watering, but keep the moisture even. Pothos plants do not like their roots to sit in water. Feed with slow-release fertilizer once each spring, or feed with half-strength houseplant fertilizer twice per month during the growing season, from spring to fall. To keep the marbling on the foliage prominent, avoid low-light conditions and afternoon sun. This plant grows well under fluorescent light or grow lights. It does best when it can attach to a totem support, but it performs well in a table pot or as a hanging plant.
The neon cultivar of Epipremnum aureum has bright, yellow-green, heart-shaped leaves that grow from vines. The leaves can reach up to 20 inches long, but they typically stop at 5 inches when the plant is kept as a houseplant. Other names for the neon pothos include devil’s ivy, hunter’s robe, money plant and monstera. Studies have shown the plant to be effective at reducing indoor air pollution.
