Which Card Games Can Be Played Alone?
Several card games can be played alone. Almost all single-player card games are a variation of the classic game solitaire. These variations include klondike, calculation solitaire, spider solitaire, golf solitaire, free cell solitaire, la belle Lucie and pyramid solitaire.
The basic setup of solitaire requires the player to leave room for four piles above the setup of the game. Next, the player begins the setup by putting one card face up and six face-down cards next to it in separate piles. Following this, the player puts a face-up card on the second pile and a face-down card on every other pile. The player continues with this pattern until all piles have a face-up card. The goal of basic solitaire is to create four piles going in order from ace to king. However, each variation has different rules, and players should look in rulebooks or online for advanced rules for each version of solitaire.
One great aspect of solitaire is that since every variation is single-player, they can all be played online as well as in person. Either way, players never have to wait for other players to take their turn like in other card games where there are multiple players.
When playing single-player card games, it is preferable to play in a quiet area to concentrate. Also, it is preferable to play indoors or in an area with no wind so the cards do not get blown away.
