Volkswagen is the biggest shareholder in the Suzuki Motor Corporation with 19.9 percent of shares. Volkswagen owns several defunct brands, including Horch, Wanderer and Dampf-Kraft-Wagen.
The Volkswagen Group is headquartered in Wolfsburg, Germany, and was first founded by the German Labor Front in Berlin on May 28, 1937. During the early years of the company’s existence, Volkswagen’s production facilities were mainly geared towards military production for use in World War II. Today, Volkswagen owns 100 production facilities around the world.
