How Can You Remove Green Tint From Your Hair?

The easiest way to remove green tint from your hair is to apply a paste of baking soda and water. This 20-minute treatment requires a bowl, a spoon, baking soda, distilled water, a large hair clip, your favorite essential oil, hair conditioner, a wide-toothed comb, towels and shower access.

  1. Mix the paste

Pour a cup of baking soda into a mixing bowl, and add enough water to make a stiff paste. Add one or two drops of your favorite essential oil, and mix again. If you prefer a fragrance-free treatment, omit the oil.

  2. Prepare your hair and work area

Comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb. Remove your shirt, and wrap a towel around your shoulders.

  3. Apply the paste

Apply the baking soda paste to your hair. Massage it into the strands, concentrating on those with the strongest green hue. Gather your hair on top of your head, and secure it with a large clip. Leave the paste on your hair for 10 minutes.

  4. Rinse and condition your hair

Rinse your hair with hot water. Apply a restorative conditioner, and leave it on for five minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water, then wrap your hair in a towel. Dry and style your hair as you normally do. If any green tint remains, repeat the baking soda treatment on the following day.
