According to the Mayo Clinic, hydrogen peroxide is sometimes needed when too much ear wax builds up and blocks the ear canal. The Mayo Clinic recommends using a few drops of hydrogen peroxide, baby oil, mineral oil or glycerin twice daily for four to five days.
