How Can You Find Your Property’s Parcel Number?

You can find your property’s parcel number by searching for it in your county or city property appraiser’s/tax collector’s website. You also can visit or call your property appraiser’s/tax collector’s office. Your parcel number should be printed on your property tax bill.

Your county or city appraiser and tax collector generally offer a free property search on their websites, but if there is a fee or your county does not have a website, an alternative method of finding your home’s parcel number (APN or appraiser’s parcel number) is to use online real estate sales sites.

Zillow.com allows you to search for your home. Once located, scroll down to “See data sources,” which includes the parcel number. Zillow also provides a link to your county’s or city’s website, if there is one, which can also display the parcel number.

Another way of finding your parcel number is to use Google Earth Pro. Earth Pro is a free application you can download from google.com/earth and allows users to search by address.

It is important to note that in some cities and counties, parcel numbers may be referred to by another name, but “folio numbers” and “property ID numbers” are not parcel numbers.
