The southern warmer is a cocktail that helps soothe the throat and warm those that are suffering from winter colds. The recipe calls for two ounces of Southern Comfort, six ounces of milk and a teaspoon of honey. You should use slightly runny honey, as it will mix better. Warm up the milk in a pan or microwave, but don’t let it boil, and then add the honey to it. Mix in the two ounces of Southern Comfort.

There is also a variation on the popular “hurricane” drink that uses Southern Comfort. The ingredients are two ounces of Southern Comfort, one ounce of pineapple juice, one ounce of orange juice, one ounce of lime juice, a half ounce of grenadine and a half ounce of simple syrup. Shake up the ingredients in a shaker half-filled with ice and then strain into a hurricane glass. Garnish with a cherry or slice of orange.
