How Can You Look up Priests on the National Directory of Catholic Priests?
A complete directory of Catholic priests appears in the annual publication The Official Catholic Directory. The Directory lists all current personnel assignments, new assignments and appointments and contact information for those listed in it.
The Directory is not country-specific, rather it includes information for all 211 U.S. (arch) dioceses and for (arch) dioceses in the rest of the world. Those listed in the Directory include members of all religious orders, both men and women, and all persons serving as missionaries. Maps of diocesan boundaries are also enclosed, along with contact information for each, including website and email addresses, when available.
The Directory was first published in 1817 by P.J. Kenedy & Sons. P.J. Kenedy & Sons still publishes the Directory, under the imprint of National Register Publishing. There is no online version available as of December 2015. Clergy can order a standard print copy for a discounted price, though non-clergy are also welcome to purchase a copy. Another edition, the Papal edition, is prepared annually for presentation to the Pope.
Place an order for a copy by calling (800) 473-7020, option 3; sending an email to ocdsales@nationalregisterpublishing.com; ordering online; or faxing a printed PDF copy of the order form, which is downloadable from the publisher’s website, to 1-800-473-7055.
