Can FBI Agents Have Tattoos?

Tattoos do not disqualify a person from serving as an FBI special agent. Applicants with the Federal Bureau of Investigation must exhibit high personal standards that include uncompromising personal integrity, but that does not mean they cannot have tattoos or body piercings.
FBI special agents must meet certain qualifications and standards that include passing an extensive background check, polygraph test and credit check. Characteristics that will disqualify a person for eligibility include student loan defaults, recent illegal drug use or drug dealing. As law enforcement officials, FBI agents cannot be convicted felons. In addition, agents must be U.S. citizens, college graduates and physically fit.
