As PreventBlindness.org points out, some states have slightly more lenient requirements for one-eyed drivers. Many states grant driver’s licenses to people with corrected visual acuity of 20/60 in their better eye but restrict those drivers to daytime driving. In addition, as of 2010, 34 states impose a binocular horizontal visual field requirement, requiring a horizontal visual field ranging from 105 to 150 degrees. Several states also impose horizontal visual field requirements specific to drivers with only one eye.
