When a bug is in the nose, it may be dislodged by pinching shut the unaffected nostril, according to WebMD, and blowing hard through the affected nostril a few times to try to clear out the insect. Otherwise, it may be necessary to visit a doctor.
WebMD recommends seeing a doctor if all of the insect can’t be removed, if there is a bloody nose that won’t stop, or if there are signs of infection, such as a nose that is tender or stuffy. A doctor may use a suction machine or insert an instrument into the nose to remove the insect, according to Stanford Children’s Health.
