Benecol regular and light spreads contain plant sterol esters derived from natural plant sources. A single tablespoon contains 0.5 grams of plant sterols. Benecol recommends cooking and baking with its light and regular spreads.
Becel, on the other hand, does not recommend baking or cooking with its margarine that has plant sterols and vitamins D, E and A. Similarly, Smart Balance HeartRight Light contains plant sterols, omega fatty acids, and vitamins D, B6 and B12.
