What Are Some Brands of Enzyme Cleaning Products?

Tide, Arm & Hammer, Rug Doctor, Pawsitively Clean and Naturally It’s Clean are some brands of cleaning products containing enzymes. Most cleaning products have an enzyme-based alternative that is equivalent to harsher chemical versions, including laundry detergents, pet stain removers, carpet cleaners, kitchen and bathroom cleaners, and mold and mildew removal products.

Common enzymes used in cleaning products – including proteases, amylases, lipases, cellulases and mannanases – are typically listed in the ingredients section of the product labels. Users of enzyme-based products should be sure to wash with warm, not hot, water because these products can’t be used at extreme temperatures. Many of the Tide and Arm & Hammer laundry detergent formulations are enzyme based. The enzymes work naturally to breakdown and dissolve many of the proteins and other organic material found in clothing stains.

Carpet and rug steam cleaners typically use enzyme-based products to remove pet stains and urine and feces odors. Rug Doctor brand cleaners and Pawsitively Clean, a brand owned by Bissell, are examples of steam cleaners that use enzymes. The Naturally It’s Clean brand sells a large line of enzyme-based cleaning products, including laundry detergents and carpet cleaners as well as glass, floor, bathroom, kitchen and mildew cleaners.
