Blood gang hand signs include a small letter “b” formed with one hand, the letters “CK” formed with one hand, a large letter “B” formed with one hand, and the word “blood” formed with both hands, as of 2015. The hand signs used vary depending on the member and the area. Signs may consist of one movement or multiple movements.
The small and large letter “b” signs both signal the word “blood,” and indicate that the person displaying the sign is a member of the gang. The person forms the small “b” by touching his index finger and his thumb to form a circle. The other three fingers point straight up. To form a large “B,” he performs the same motion with his thumb and index finger, but he also touches his middle fingertip to the knuckle of the index finger to form the top of the letter. The other fingers stay folded against the palm.
The “CK” sign stands for “Crip killer.” The Crips are one of the Bloods’ rival gangs. The person forms the sign by pressing the thumb against the palm and holding the index finger up with the tip curled inward, to form the letter “c.” The other three fingers point outwards in three separate directions to form the “k.”
The person forms the “blood” sign by pointing both thumbs up and curling all the fingers inward to form circles, except the middle finger on the left hand. This finger points upward to form the “l.”
