The sizes of roller skating rinks vary according to available space, but an average-size rink in the industry is 18,000 square feet with a skating surface of approximately 10,000 square feet, according to Southeastern Skate Supply Inc. This equates to roughly 70 feet by 100 feet of skating space.

Depending on the needs of the community, rink sizes can be 14,000 square feet or less and can also be much larger. Some urban skating rinks cover more than 21,000 square feet. In addition to the skating surface, rinks often include space for birthday party rooms, snack bars and rental gear.
