Some Bible verses related to marriage vows in the New Testament include Ephesians 5: 31, which says, “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.”

Another verse for marriage vows is Hebrews 13:4. It says, “Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” In the Old Testament, there is Genesis 2: 24, which says, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

Most of the verses that relate to marriage vows emphasize the union of two different individuals into one. The verses also emphasize the importance of leaving parents behind to start a new life with one’s spouse. Another common message is the purity of the matrimonial bed.

In Ephesians 5:33, the couple is asked to remain faithful to each other and is advised on how to live with the other person. The husband should love his wife as much as he loves himself. The wife, for her part, is required to honor her husband. According to Corinthians 7:39, divorce is not allowed except when one loses a spouse.
