Who Was the Best Basketball Player in the 1920s?

New Yorker Nat Holman is considered by many experts to be the greatest basketball player of the 1920s. He was enshrined into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1964.

Holman was a star player at New York University and spent most of his pro career as a member of the Original Celtics, a professional team known for its aggressive defensive play. Holman was an exceptional ball-handler and shooter known for his outstanding floor leadership that also helped Germantown to the famed 1921 Eastern League title. Holman would eventually take over head coaching responsibilities at City College of New York (CCNY) and remains the only coach in college basketball history to win both the NCAA and NIT titles in the same season.
