There is no average size of private swimming pools as owners can have them built to their specifications. Olympic swimming pools are required to be 64 feet long.
The size of swimming pools often vary depending on the use of the pool. For instance, lap pools typically measure 10 by 40 feet and are around 3 feet 4 inches deep. The corner radius varies however, from 2 feet to 6 feet, depending on personal preference. Above-ground pools are often smaller than in-ground pools, and they measure anywhere from 6 feet to 24 feet wide. They are also commonly only 6 feet deep or less.
