What Is the Average Seat Belt Warranty?

On average, seat belts are under lifetime warranties. Car companies such as Honda, Ford and General Motors Corporation offer seat belt warranties varying in length. These lifetime warranties, however, do come with restrictions. For example, some motor companies only replace seat belts damaged by normal wear and tear.

Honda offers a lifetime warranty for its seat belts. However, the company does not replace seat belts that have been damaged by tears or excess grime or dirt. Honda sells seat belt replacements for those not covered by the warranty.

Ford’s seat belt warranty also covers its air bag Supplemental Restraint System, but it is not a lifetime warranty. General Motors Corporation also does not have a lifetime seat belt warranty, but it does repair or replace defective seat belts.
