As of 2014, Richard Nixon has appeared on the cover of Time magazine 55 times, more than any other person. Nixon was vice president of the United States from 1953 to 1961 and president of the United States from 1969 to 1974.
Nixon's political career began in 1946 with his election to the House of Representatives from California. He was elected to the Senate in 1950 before agreeing to be Dwight D. Eisenhower's running mate in 1952. In 1974, Nixon became the first and only U.S. president to resign from office due to his involvement in the Watergate scandal. Nixon died in 1994.
