What Are the Answers to the NRP Online Exam?

Answers to the NRP online examination are not available from the American Academy of Pediatrics, even for questions that the student misses on the exam. The AAP states that this is due to the open book nature of the test.

The NRP online exam is an open-book test. Students are permitted to use textbooks, study guides and help from others. Answers to specific questions may be obtained from any of these sources, and the AAP encourages the use of these outside sources.

Questions for the NRP exam are reviewed and edited on a monthly basis. Questions that 80 percent of learners cannot answer correctly are reviewed for potential editing or removal. Due to this rapid review cycle, a list of answers for previous exams obtained through other means is not a reliable resource for passing the NRP online exam.

The exam is only available online; all hard copies have been discontinued. This includes access to instructors, who cannot order practice copies for remedial instruction. Students have two opportunities to pass the exam, and a student who fails both times must pay the testing fee again for another attempt. This structure exists because students have access to textbooks, study materials and instructors during the exam.
