The age range of a youth group varies. Church youth groups generally depend on the size and culture of a church. Most youth groups include youth who are in grades 6 to 12, aged 12 to 18.
Some youth groups have youth as young as 10 or in fifth grade, and other youth groups include college-aged students. Smaller churches are more likely to have youth younger than 12 or older than 18 in a group in order to create a larger organization. Larger churches with more resources and youth usually restrict membership in youth groups to ages 12 to 18.
