There is no upper age limit on jurors serving on the state of New York, according to the New York State Unified Court System. Any U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age may be called to jury duty in their county of residence.
Persons called to jury duty are required to report at the time indicated on the summons. Individuals that skip jury duty may incur civil or criminal penalties and are assigned a new date for future service. Summoned jurors requesting to be excused due to financial or medical hardship must provide supporting documentation to the local Commissioner of Jurors.
