What Is the Advantage of a TV With a Built-in Wi-Fi?
Last Updated Mar 28, 2020 2:28:08 PM ET

The advantage of a TV with built-in Wi-Fi, also known as a smart TV, is that a person can stream videos, movies and TV shows directly from the Internet. There is no need for an extra device, such as a gaming system, streaming player or smart Blu-ray player, to stream.
Aside from streaming media content, smart TVs also allow a person to search the Internet, connect to social networking sites and download apps, much like the user does on a smartphone or tablet. Smart TVs connect to the Internet by utilizing a wireless card, processor and operating software. The Internet and media content can be accessed using the smart TV's remote control.
