To adjust screen size, open the Appearance and Personalization menu in Windows 7 by accessing the Control Panel, select your primary display, and adjust the resolution via the drop-down menu. Set the size of other elements to further customize the size of your screen.

  1. Open the Appearance and Personalization menu

Press the Windows key, and select Control Panel from the Start menu. Categorize the items by selecting the Category option from the drop-down menu next to the View By option. Click on the Appearance and Personalization link.

  2. Adjust the resolution

Click on the Display link, and click on Adjust Resolution in the navigation menu on the left side. Click on the image representing the primary display, and open the drop-down menu next to the Resolution option. Select the desired resolution, and click on Apply. If you’re using an LCD or an LED monitor, make sure to select the recommended option to avoid a blurry screen.

  3. Modify the size of other elements

In the Display menu, select one of the three preset options, and click Apply. Alternatively, click on the Set Custom Text Size link, and drag the scale to the left or right to decrease or increase the size, respectively. Click on OK, and click Apply. To confirm the changes, log off via the Start menu, and select the icon representing your user account to log back in.
